Uyyala Jampala

Movie : Uyyala Jampala
Director : Virinchi Varma
Music : Sunny MR
Starring : Raj Tarun, Avika Gor
Genre : Romance/Comedy

Review: What can one say about this movie??? Binding it to some or the other genre is just for our reviews. IT IS A COMPLETE FAMILY ENTERTAINER WITH ALL EMOTIONS IN THE RIGHT PROPORTIONS!!!!!

A captivating narration, screenplay from the very beginning scene till the tail end credits. Beautiful performances from all the artists including the debutants. Raj Tarun, the right choice for the portrayed character and Avika was like a reflection for the definition of a southindian countryside girl in all its senses (i must say, i'm personally in love with her both 'Uma Devi' & 'Avika Gor' ;-) ).

Both the caste and the crew knew very well how to tame & film this simple story of a countryside love. All the aspects of the film including the direction, cinematography, background score, editing and everything are an asset and the songs of the are soothing soft yet mind-blowing. Awesome job by Sunny MR.

Pros : I have to say something about every frame of this film when it comes to the pros of the film.

Cons : Nothing!!! Actually there are one or two but are completely neglegible.

Finally, one would love watching this kind of movie how many ever times it may be!!! Wish & hope to come across many such kind of movies from the lead team of the film.

Jhoota Hi Sahi

Title: Jhoota Hi Sahi
Cast: John Abraham, Pakhi, Raghu Ram, R. Madhavan.
Director: Abbas Tyrewala
Music: A R Rahman
Rating: 3/5

Review:  Jhoota Hi Sahi, another love story tamed well by Abbas Tyrewala. The film contains all the emotions in required amounts which makes it well balanced. The music given by ARR is stupendous especially in the climax where he plays symphony. All the artists have worked up to the mark. Hilarious scenes in the 2nd half of the film were more than the 1st, but screenplay and direction makes you stick to the screens throughout the stretch of the film.

The story of the film is Sid(Siddharth Aarya- John Abraham), runs a bookstore in England with his friends Raghu Ram and a few more. DOST India- an organization set up by Indian students for helping indians in England from committing suicide. The DOST India pamphlet contains Sid's home number without his notice. A team member of the organization visits Sid and explains him about her institution and their mistake. Then Sid accepts that he would talk to the one who calls him and give their organizations number.

One night, Sid receives a call from Mishka(Pakhi), who wants to commit suicide because of being dumped by Kabir(R.Madhavan)which brings them closer as friends and John falls in love with her though he already has a girlfriend. Sid acts as an unknown friend from DOST India on phone(and lies to her) and as  Siddharth, a bookstore friend to get close to her. The rest of the film is about how he manages in proving himself and winning the heart of Mishka.

Overall, the movie is a good entertainer.

CROOK- IT'S GOOD TO BE BAD

Title: Crook
Cast: Emran Hashmi, Neha Sharma, Gulshan Grover, Deepak.
Director: Mohit Suri
Music: Pritam
Rating: 2.5/5

Review: Crook, is a film revolving around an illegal immigrant indian to australia fighting against racial attacks.
The 1st half of the film introduces & describes all the important characters with some entertaining elements like comedy, love etc... whereas the 2nd half targets at the protest against the attacks with a captivating screenplay.

The film as a whole is fine but nothing to mention as a strength or a weakness. Without the twists in the film, it would be a boring one and though the twists are good, have made the story weak.

ROBOT- Hindi(Dubbed from original version- Tamil)

Title: Robot
Genre: Sci-fi/ Love
Cast: Rajnikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bacchan, Danny Danzongpa.
Director: Shankar
Music: A R Rahman
Rating: 2/5

Review: Robot, the costliest film made in India ever with the team consisting of Creame of the Industry like Rajni n Aish in the cast, Shankar and Rahman in the Crew was released on 1st of October year 2010.
The financial returns at the box office is reflecting the commercial success of the film worldwide.

Story: Dr. Vaseegaran(a scientist, Rajni) designs and develops a worlds most efficient humanoid robot that is 100 times powerful than a single human being for the Indian Army and names it 'Chitti'. Sana(Aishwarya), the girlfriend of Vaseegaran is a medico in the same city seeks some help from Chitti. The chief of AIRD, Dr. Bohra(Danny) rejects the patents for Chitti claiming that it is just a humanoid without feelings and could be dangerous in the society. Vasee incorporates the feelings for Chitti for AIRD approval, meanwhile Chitti falls in love with Sana. Vasee again fails at the Indian Army's test with Chitti and in his frustration Vasee destroys Chitti.
Dr.Bohra, uses the damaged Chitti and takes its neural schema to sell the robots for terrorist activities. He repairs Chitti, adds an extra chip to Chitti which leads to destruction. Chitti for possessing Sana uses the weapon of destruction. The rest is just Vasee's efforts of destroying Chitti.

Strengths: The credit for such an outlook of the film completely goes to the team of animators, the cinematography by Ratnavel was up to the mark , songs composed by Rahman are good and the background score though not captivating, is good enough confining to the pace of the film.

Weakness: The story line is very weak since a robot understanding human emotions and reacting in a similar way is hypothetical and most of the scenes incorporated in the film have nothing to do with the story which makes audiance feel bored. The film would have been much better if confined for a 90mins- 110mins run.

Overall, Rajni as both Vaseegaran and Chitti was looking new with his new style in the film with his performance being commendable, Aish was looking very gorgeous with a good performance. The first half of the film consists of a few jokes, with a plot leading to the main story of the film that starts in the second half after Chitti falling in love with Sana.

Shankar being an exceptional director with the blockbusters like Bharateeyudu, Aparichitudu, etc.... is not uo tp his mark with ROBOT.
